the next generation coffee

Quench your thirst for something new with our organic refreshment made from unroasted Columbian coffee beans, lemon, ginger and herbal giant root.

Our Vision at a glance

The next generation coffee

Coffee is an exchange-traded commodity, whose massive consumption  weighs heavily on the shoulders of 25 million small farmers worldwide. However, the exact routes that a coffee bean travels is often ambiguous, though it's journey leaves substantial harm to the environment in its wake, whether during conventional cultivation, packaging or transportation. Even still, some coffee beans are burned industrially and are nearly intolerable without adding excessive milk and sugar.

We want to break through this traditional framework. With the Next Generation Coffee, we will change the coffee platform on an aromatic, social, ecological and economic level to consistently create more value for all involved: consumers, producers and our planet! Our project started in 2015 with the soft drink selosoda, by using the coffee cherry that was at that time largely unknown in Europe (it was a supposed waste product). Your participation as a consumer, helped create an additional source of income for coffee farmers and promoted local organic farming. But this exciting raw material - a driver of sustainability - was classified as "Novel Food", similar to Chia seeds and Stevia. This classification resulted in a lengthy approval process and consequentially rapid new product development from our side.

Refreshingly different

Green coffee beans

We don't use your typical roasted coffee beans in our product. Instead we use sun-dried beans which enhance the taste with a fresh, mild fruitiness. The coffee bean remains green when it is sun-dried -- the culprit behind the minty green tone of Selo green coffee.

Origin: Colombia

Transparency as the highest virtue

Origin Colombia

We get our sun-dried coffee beans from Colombia, from the Coocafé Cooperative in the Sierra Nevada region to be precise. 38 farmers handle the care, harvest and processing of the organically grown Arabica coffee. Close cooperation allows us to be transparent from cultivation, all the way to the bottle. With every kilo of coffee trade, we send funds back into quality-enhancing structures of the cooperative. Beyond fair and transparent trade, we follow the simple rule of re-investing 1% of our total revenues back into our source.

The additional ingredients

100% organicRaw materials

Without compromise

All our Ingredients are organic. Along with the green coffee beans, we use lemons from Italy, ginger from South Africa, alpine gentian from France and a hint of blue agave from Mexico. We strictly avoid industrial sugars, flavors and preservatives. All raw materials are combined with spring water. Our production partner is a family business, experts in their field and ambassadors of environmentally friendly processes. The production of our drink is done with renewable energies and we only use recycled glass bottles that are refilled approximately 25 times.
